Greetings and Happy New Year to you! While I have the privilege of visiting over 70 colleges and universities each year one of my favorite stops is Bridgewater State University. Whether working with students or staff members, I appreciate the positive energy and true concern for the campus community everyone evidences. This strong commitment to the university and its mission seems to remain even through all of the growth and change the University has seen over the years. Fortunately for me, I get to return to campus on Thursday, January 10, 2013 to work with all of you in the Division of Student Affairs. I am looking forward to it already and invite you to participate. Given our hectic work environment and the changes that continue to occur, I hope that you’ll take the opportunity on that day to . . .
REFRESH! You’ll have an opportunity to stop and reflect (a luxury you don’t always have in your busy offices) and remember what’s most important at work. And more, you’ll have some time to think about ways to express those most important things in your work every day.
RECONNECT! Throughout our day and at lunch afterward there will be opportunities to share thoughts, ideas and maybe even some laughs with fellow staff members as we consider, together, ways to ensure that we get our work done well for the campus community.
REENGERGIZE! I promise you one high-energy presentation; however, some of the ideas you’ll encounter during our training will consider the impact change has on us and what’s even better: ways to deal with whatever we encounter to maintain our energy and attitude every day!
I look forward to meeting and working with you all on January 10th – and am certain that we’ll have a profitable day leaving you even more ready for the semester to come!
